“Good beer, food and friendly service”
Visiting friends nearby, and having been to the pub before, we went for dinner. We had steaks, which were excellent. The service was excellent and all staff were very friendly. Will go back when we are in the area.
“Lunch visit with dog”
This pub is the friendliest I've been to in a long time. The land lady is absolutely lovely and accommodating. I ate the crab starter and the mussels as a main and they were both very well cooked, presented and priced. Tasted amazing too. Dogs welcome. Dog biscuits provided!
Nothing to say except, just and feast for the senses! Arrived at the pub for a quick bite on Friday evening, having tried two others in the area that were hosting private functions.... so doubled back to The Reformation... and so glad we did. Besides the staff being a delight, the food was even more so. We both had pan fried Chicken Breast wrapped in Proscutto on a bed of spinach/sweet potato with sage butter.... succulent, moist and to die for.... Just the right amount so room for dessert.. Affogato Coffee(with home made shortbread which melted in the mouth and the cheese board...with the exceptional onion chutney...Sam, believe this is our work of art? perfect accompaniment. Not to mention the Bloom G&T's with strawberries... Our new local see you soon Rich and Sam
“Lovely food, good service and nice atmosphere”
We had a Sunday lunch here and sat in the garden, perfect with our friends little boy who could wander around without us worrying!
Lovely food, good burger, fab roast and lovely Wild Mushroom Pie!!
We will definitely be going back.
“Excellent Freshly cooked Food of High Standard”
Our first and enjoyable visit to the Reformation. We were both impressed by the overall standard of our meal.
Mains Belly of Pork; Chicken Schnitzel were both very well cooked and presented.
We dithered over whether or not to have a pudding - but were very glad that we chose the lemon cheesecake and chocolate moussee respectively, both of which were "divine".
The Reformation is a warm, friendly and delightful cottage style country pub in the village of Gallowstree Common, 5 miles from Henley-on-Thames and 6 miles from Reading.
The pub has a cosy bar, dining area and a conservatory, offering a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy quality homemade food using fresh produce from local suppliers whenever possible.
The Reformation retains a traditional pub feel with cosy log fires in the winter, and a large beer garden, BBQ and children's play area in the summer,
making it an ideal place for a drink or meal all year round. Our "shipwreck" outdoor play area is particularly popular with children.
You will receive a warm welcome from the moment you walk through the door and we will make your visit to us one to remember.
We look forward to seeing you soon - Rich & Sam
